showing the famous Hudson (4-6-4) and everything about it from operations to servicing. Also another Black and White
films is a Pennsylvania Railroad film called On To Washington. In addition there are two Steel Company films dealing
with testing of railroad Trucks(Wheels), and braking which includes several test trains. These two films are in color.

Turn back the clock to 1957 when steam still ran on Canadian Pacific and
Canadian National in Western Canada. You'll see a variety of both CN and
CP locomotives in the Vancouver area, and venture into the prairies for
more action. Highlights include the CN around Kamloops including pacing
scenes west with a 2-8-2 and another with a 2-10-2. These 16mm color
films, along with authentic audio have been preserved as historic railroad

This 1958 journey to the Canadian Prairies features a wealth of Canadian
Pacific, and Canadian National variety. You'll see mixed trains, freights,
and passenger trains, all steam hauled on mainlines and branchlines. You'll
visit places like Broadview, Virden, Portage la Prairie, Winnipeg, the Morris
Branch, Minnedosa and many others. Famous engines like CP Royal Hudson #2860, and

The end is near for Canadian National and Canadian Pacific Steam in Canada,
as photographer Maynard Laing and friends head to the prairies to see the
action. Tons of great steam abounds with much of the action around Winnipeg
and especially the Portage la Prairie area where the CN and CP cross at a
diamond, and run through the town a block apart. There is lots of exciting

largest steam locomotives to ever run, and in 1958 and 1959 they were still hard at work. When other railroads in the United States were

Maynard Laing ventured to Washington's Olympic Penninsula to capture the end of an era, with steam locomotives working the forests
hauling out fresh log trains to the mill. The Rayonier mainline was 45 miles long, and featured several serviceable engines including
articulated 2-6-6-2's. Two of them are seen on log trains including #14 and ex-Sierra Railway #38. More Details Here

In the early 1950's steam locomotives were being replaced rapidly by diesels on most railroads and Northern Pacific was no exception.
Fortunately photographers like Mr. Maynard Laing, of Bellevue, Washington chronicled many of the final days of steam in his area
